About Haven of Rest

The Haven of Rest is a non-governmental organisation, housing a Cluster Foster Care for HN/Aids orphans, an Old Age Home, a Halfway House, a Medical Clinic, a School and Hope Centre for abused women.

Nestled in the heart of the sugar cane town ofTongaat on the KZN north coast, the Haven of Rest caters for a wide demographic of the community extending from Durban to Richards Bay. It was founded in 1999 by visionaries Ronnie & Shirley Naidoo, who were inspired to establish an institution that would cater for the social development, enhancement and welfare of the community.

The primary objective of the Haven of Rest is to fulfil its role in the community by reaching out to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the disadvantaged community.

A beacon of hope to the homeless, destitute and the down trodden of society, the non-profit organisation renders essential services to all people irrespective of race, colour, creed or religion. The organisation has been successfully running over the past decade through the support and endorsement of volunteers, caregivers, sponsors, civil society, religious bodies, community members and partners.
